Allegra Hodson clinched the dual match for App State Tennis on Sunday, leading the Mountaineers to a 4-2 victory over East Carolina.
Hodson secured her first collegiate win at the No. 2 spot for the Mountaineers (8-10), enduring a three-set battle to win 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.

Savannah Dada-Mascoll extended her winning streak to 16 matches by blanking her opponent in the opening set of a 6-0, 6-1 victory. The win matches her career long streak set in 2024 and marks 18 consecutive sets won for the Yorkshire, England native.
With the Mountaineers unable to field a player at No. 6 singles, conceding a point to East Carolina (3-7) following doubles,
Ruby Broadbent picked up a crucial straight-set win at No. 5, earning her second straight victory, 6-2, 6-2.
How It Happened
The Mountaineers began the day by clinching the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2. The pair of
Sreenidhi Balaji and Hodson held a 5-2 lead at No. 3 when the point was secured.
The dual was tied 1-1 due to the forfeit at No. 6, but Dada-Mascoll quickly restored the lead at No. 1, dropping only a single game in her straight sets win. After Broadbent put the Mountaineers within one point of the overall victory, a loss at No. 4 brought the team score to 3-2.
Hodson then closed out the match. After dropping the second set, she responded by conceding only one game in the deciding set to clinch the Mountaineers' eighth win of the season.

The Mountaineers continue their road trip against Georgia Southern on Friday, followed by a matchup at Coastal Carolina on Saturday. First serve for both matches is scheduled for 10 a.m.
