Dada-Mascoll Named Sun Belt Women's Tennis Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – App State Tennis standout Savannah Dada-Mascoll, who is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation, has been named the Sun Belt Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

"Savannah competed with confidence and purpose this week against Virginia Tech," said head coach Hannah Fetters. "She stayed locked in during key moments against a tough competitor and competed at a high level from start to finish."

The honor for the Yorkshire, England, native comes after she picked up her first win of the spring season, defeating All-American Özlem Uslu of Virginia Tech in a three-set battle, 6-3, 1-6, 7-5, last Friday. This marks the first Player of the Week honor that Dada-Mascoll has received this season and the fifth of her career.

Dada-Mascoll handily took the first set of the match, and despite falling in the second, she grinded out the victory by winning two consecutive games after the score was knotted at five apiece in the deciding set.

The Mountaineers will look to carry the momentum from singles play into their first home match of the season against UNC Asheville on Friday, with first serve slated for 2 p.m.

The 2025-26 season is presented by Hound Ears Club.
